Triple P

The Triple P: Positive Parenting Program presented by Child Advocacy Services (CAS) gives parents and caregivers simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships in their families. 

Parents can attend any or all of the 90-minute seminars. All take place at the East Regional Library in Destrehan. No registration is required.

Tuesday, March 7 at 6pm: The Power of Positive Parenting
This is an introduction to the Triple P Program. Learn key principles and strategies to create safe, interesting, positive learning environments for children; use assertive discipline; have realistic expectations of yourself and children; and take care of yourself as a parent or caregiver.

Tuesday, March 14 at 6pm: Raising Confident, Competent Children 
This session covers social and emotional skills that children need in order to thrive at home, in school, and throughout life. Learn ways to help children learn to treat others with respect, be considerate, have good communication and social skills, develop healthy self-esteem, become good problem solvers, and become independent.

Tuesday, March 21 at 6pm: Raising Resilient Children 
This last session offers strategies to teach children healthy ways to deal with their emotions. Participants will learn ways to help children recognize, understand, and accept feelings; express feelings appropriately; build a positive outlook; develop effective ways of coping; deal with negative feelings and unpleasant situations; and manage stressful life events.
