August Planetarium Shows
Looking for something to do that's close to home and out of the heat? Visit the St. Charles Planetarium and see what's playing in August!
Planetarium seating is currently limited and registration is required. Register through our event calendar. You can also register by calling or visiting any library location.
Everyone age 3 and older must wear a mask or face covering during Planetarium shows.
Summer Stargazing: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm | for adults, teens, and older children
Summer Stargazing highlights the stars and constellations of summer. You will learn to find your way around the summer night sky using the stars as your guide and see that there are more than just stars to be observed in our evening skies.
Sky Quest: Saturdays at 10:00am and 11:30am | for all ages
In Sky Quest, you will join an eight-year-old girl in her first steps toward becoming an astronomer. She learns about the stars, constellations, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. She even takes an imaginary trip to Mars onboard a cardboard rocket.
Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope: Saturdays at 2:00pm and 3:30pm | for adults, teens, and older children
Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope takes a look at the history of telescopes and the celestial wonders observed over the past 400 years. Learn about the latest mysteries in astronomy and the telescopes that will work to unravel them.
