Halloween is Here
October is the month of Halloween Safety and a great time to talk about being safe during this fun, yet spooky, holiday. And although we are going through the COVID-19 pandemic, we can still observe Halloween safely! Below are some tips to keep you safe during Halloween.
For trick or treating, plan for social distancing, or for alternatives. Some alternatives to consider:
- Stay outside. Give out the candy from your porch rather than inside.
- For your own kids, buy candy and do a candy scavenger hunt around the house and yard.
- Put a bowl or pumpkin of candy at the end of your driveway with some hand sanitizer and watch from the porch.
- Arrange for a contact-free neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt, which might include candy, decorations, and photo opportunities.
And don't forget all of the great Halloween things for kids that you can find on hoopla for FREE with your library card!
