We are partnering with Entergy Waterford 3 to present a STEM Fair on Tuesday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Regional Library.

Many elements of STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—are scheduled to be on display and available for hands-on experiences for people of all ages, from preschool to adults, throughout the library.

  • Earth Science Week (October 14-20) will be celebrated with help from retired science teacher Marie Tizzard. She will encourage students to act like paleontologists by investigating ancient ocean sediments to discover and identify shark teeth, coral, sea shells, and more.
  • The award-winning Destrehan and Hahnville High School robotics teams will demonstrate their creations and talk about their work.
  • An interactive giant bubble area by Jennette Ginsburg of Hey Now Hooping will be outside.
