Holidays at the Library

Happy holidays to you and your family! We will be closed the following dates:

  • Monday, December 24
  • Tuesday, December 25
  • Monday, December 31
  • Tuesday, January 1

As you can see, we're open most of the holiday season, so spend some of your Christmas and New Year holidays at the library! In addition to visiting us for books, DVDs, and other things to check out, we're offering crafts and activities for all ages, so grab your friends and family and make your way to the library for free fun.

And if you've missed it, we are offering three workshops with artist Becca Hillburn: DIY Zines, How to Write Comics, and How to Ink Comics. These are for ages 9 and up and do require registration.  



Painting Twists: Stocking Holders - Painting Twists is a monthly event for adults who have a crafty side. Every month we will get together for a different craft. This month we will be decorating stocking holders.

Ceramic Christmas Ornament Decorating - Get in the holiday spirit by decorating a ceramic Christmas ornament.

All-Levels Vinyasa Yoga - In this one-hour class, Sara Lyon (MA LPC RYT) will guide you through a series of invigorating movements aligning the posturing with breath, focus, and mindful meditation. This class is designed for all levels, but you must be able to get up and down off the floor. Please bring a yoga mat.

Flying Needles - This knitting and crocheting group is open to anyone wanting to learn a new craft or share talents. Perfect for both the beginner and more experienced crafters.

Teen Time: The Grinch Movie - Reindeer food will be served. For grades 6-12.

Ornament Factory - Spice up your Christmas tree with handmade ornaments. For ages 5-11.

Storytimes, Lapsits, and WeePlays

Storytime - Storytimes are a great way to introduce your children to wonderful books and great music. We use finger plays, songs, and stories to encourage children to discover the world around them.

Planetarium Shows (shows change monthly)

Children's Matinee: The Alien Who Stole Christmas - The Alien Who Stole Christmas returns this holiday season! An alien, named Mr. Freep, nabs Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and takes him on a tour of the solar system. You and your children will learn about the planets of our solar system and about some children that Santa left off his list. For all ages.
