Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins on October 1st and ends October 31st. This annual health campaign helps to bring awareness and education to everyone about this disease.

On October 2, 1908, Thurgood Marshall was born. He had a highly successful career as a lawyer, at one point representing the Brown family in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, and was a champion of the Civil Rights era.
