Back to School Fairs
We will host two back to school fairs in September to show students, parents, and educators how the library can help students of all ages with homework and projects as the new school year begins.
The first back to school fair will be Saturday, September 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the West Regional Library. The second will be Wednesday, September 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the East Regional Library.
“We want to help parents and educators learn about different ways to make doing homework and school projects easier for their children and students,” said Teen Services Librarian Amy Duke. “The library offers a lot of helpful online resources free of charge to anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in St. Charles Parish, and we want to make sure everyone knows about them.”
Library staff will be set up around the library, demonstrating easy-to-use online resources in a fun atmosphere.
“We’re going to make learning fun,” Duke explained. “In addition to the hands-on demonstrations at our resource tables, there will be refreshments, games, and activities—so make sure to bring your children! They will be able to learn about resources that will help them excel at school and have fun while doing it.”
There will also be free giveaways and a Fire 7 Tablet raffle at each event. The raffle is sponsored by the Friends of the St. Charles Library.
All St. Charles Parish Library events are open to the public and free of charge. For more information about this event, contact Teen Services Librarian Amy Duke.
